The new generation of migrant workers has higher cultural level with easier access to the city's new concepts and ideas. They are at their golden age of mate-selection, and what kind of mate-selection form will they choose? Based on the question, the author describes the mate-selection form according to the way and range of mate-selection and tries to explain the reasons why they choose their mate-selection forms by taking S village as an example, using the research method of biography literature, field research and individual interviews.Chapter one—introduction, it mainly expounds the background and propounds the question of the study. Then the objective, significance and innovation spots of the thesis are proposed in this chapter. The nuclear concepts, research methodology and theoretical basis are referred to. The second chapter includes two aspects:one is the basic conditions of S village; the other is the description of the mate-selection form of S village by using observation and interviewing methods. The third and fourth chapters mainly explain that why many of the new generation of migrant workers choose to return home for blind dates. And the author gives two reasons. First, they own fewer capitals than the citizens because they are in different social position. So they take a disadvantage position in the field of marriage and love. Meanwhile, there are different habits in the field of marriage and love between the new generation of migrant workers and the citizens. These factors determine that most of them choose mates in the same social class. Second, there was the function of increasing family capital, connecting emotions and keeping the stability of marriage in marriage life; the village's habits in the field of marriage and love also influence the mate-selection of the new generation of migrant workers. The habits mainly include the traditional way of mate-selection and the relatively early age of mate-selection. And the mate-selection is conditioned by the objective work situations. These causes decide that the new generation of migrant workers goes back home and chooses mates in a traditional marriage circle.Chapter five makes a summarization of the thesis and then points out the shortcomings and explores the possibilities of the study.
