On Functions Of Ideological And Political Education In Dealing With Massive Incidents

With the further development of socialist modernization program, China has come into a crucial period of social transformation. The changes in the economic system lead to a complete and systematic adjustment in all areas of the society; the break of the original interest's pattern causes the whole social situation to tend to be complicated and diverse. When great changes occurred in China, the internal contradictions of the masses of our people have become more prominent and intensified. If these contradictions can't be reconciled or dealt with properly, they are most likely to lead to the outbreak of the massive incidents. As for the current situation in our country, the number and the scale of the massive incidents tend to grow and expand year by year, which has caused a serious impact on all areas in our country and become a major obstacle in constructing a harmonious society in China. And it has become a problem that our party and government can not avoid and have to solve. At the same time, as a traditional political advantage in our country, the ideological and political education plays a key role in different periods and different fields. In contemporary social situation, the ideological and political education guarantees effectively the steady development of politics, economics and culture in our country at the present stage through its vigorous vitality and effectiveness. Therefore, it becomes an effective way to resolve contradictions among the people and plays an important role in response to the massive incidents in China.Based on the current situation of our country, this thesis employs the method of literature review to investigate the functions of ideological and political education in dealing with massive incidents. Chapter one is the introduction that mainly elucidates the meaning of this study, and meanwhile explores and discusses the methods and process in the study. Then elaborates the concept, characteristics of the massive incidents, and analysis the trend for development of massive incidents. After that, this dissertation deeply probes into the causes of massive incidents, points out the negative impacts and realities which bring about by massive incidents. Then explains the function of the ideological and political education and the position and role in dealing with massive incidents. Based on these, trying to classify the massive incidents into three phases:"before", "during" and "after" the incidents. According to the three stages, the paper puts forward some views on this issue and some specific and operative methods, aiming to provide some useful references to dealing with the massive incidents.
