Marx's Concept Of Modernity And Its Contemporary Inspiration

The reason why modernity is paid highly attention to is originally because of human survival and development crisis.Concerns and highlights to human fate and value has become the focus of the study of modernity. Ideal of modern society that enlightenment thinkers founded aims to limit irrational destructions by rationality and make the whole society under the control of human consciousness to achieve the free and all-round development of human race. During the rising stage of capitalism, modernity, once represented the direction of social progress and created a modern civilization for mankind.The achievement of modern civilization prominently manifests that publicity of rationality managed to liberate human reasoning; subjectivity of mankind was set up; development of science and technology promoted great progress of industry and commerce and changes in mode of production leading to brilliant industrial civilization; effectuation of contract, democratization and legal system promoted the development of political civilization.During the first half of the 19th century, modernity suffered great crisis in some aspects such as economy, society and police and some formidable drawbacks which focused on alienation of labor when it made great civilization achievements. Not only did capitalist mode of production give workers poverty, exploitation and oppression, but brought serious trample upon and depreciation to human kind, which caused destruction of humans'life and cultural value. Aiming at modernity crisis in capitalist society, different classes came up with different solutions to solve society crises according to their own position, but because these solutions were not based on historical materialism and did not give scientific analysis on the root of modernity, they were not able to solve realistic crisis and fell into bankruptcy at last.Marxist philosophy, which is famous for criticizing capitalist, has natural"presence"rights. Though not proposing the concept of modernity, Marx expounded his thought of modernity in detail historically based on historical reflection and critique. but based on the history to find the rationality of capitalist and discussing the freedom and liberation of the proletariat and human race. Marx analysed the most profound crisis of the modern body. The analysis of labor is alienation. Marx revealed that the crisis is rooted in the modern capitalist private ownership. And on the basis of the analysis for the resolution of the crisis of modernity,Marx found a real way to salvate for Communist practice. Through real social transformation, to eliminate private ownership of the means of production for the core of capitalist capitalist system, establish public ownership of the means of production based on the communist system, modernity value ideal can be achieved.For china now, Modernity is not only an unfinished and on-going program but also a career to be constructed actively. Marx's modernity gives us some beneficial resources and inspiration about how to construct modernity suited to China's national conditions which doesn't overcome disadvantages in the west but also lead humans to freedom and liberation. It also helps us find a suitable way of modernity to China and promote human integrated development.
