Study On Changes Of Consumption Structure Of Rural Residents In Shanxi

Since the reform and opening-up policy was carried out, great change has also taken place in the rural area of Shanxi province. With the rapidly developing of the agriculture production, the rural residents' income level and consumption level have been increased continuously, life quality has taken on a look and consumption structure has remarkably changed. However, with the reform of economic structure and market system, many factors, such as income, price, industrial structure and system, are affecting the rational development of rural residents' consumption structure. In order to help Shanxi rural residents enjoy well-being life, one way is to improve and optimize the rural residents' consumption level and consumption structure. Therefore, a study on the change of consumption structure of rural residents and an understanding of the trend of changes is not only very important in both the theory and academic field but also of significance in policy study.By using the statistics data from the books like "50 Years in Shanxi Countryside", "Statistical Report Yearly" as well as "Chinese Rural Statistical Yearly book", the author adopted a method of positive analysis to study consumption structure of rural residents in Shanxi province based on the theory of consumption economics. Firstly, by the way of clustering analysis, the author divided changes of consumption structure of rural residents in Shanxi province into different stages, and analyzed their features in different stages. According to the different consumption subjects, the author compared changes of consumption structure of the urban and the rural residents in Shanxi, those of rural residents in Shanxi and in developed provinces like Zhejiang province.
