Study On Selection Approach Of Regional Agricultural Eco-economic Suitable Leading Industries

Leading industries play an important role in the development of regional economy. The selection of agricultural leading industries is one of the indispensable important content in the research of regional development. Whether the selection of leading industries is correct or not is directly related to the whole development level of regional economy. Therefore it attracts extensive attention of domestic and foreign scholars, but common recognition is not yet formed at present. Directing to this problem, the selection theory and selection approach of agricultural leading industries are discussed. The main contents are as follows:l.Base on regional economics and industrial economics; consider the agricultural produce characteristics different with industrial produce, the definition and the characters of the district agricultural leading industry are analyzed. The theoretic basis and standard of leading industries are summarized. The features and the development of regional leading industries study in China are given. The successes and the shortages of regional leading industries study are discussed.2.The selection theory and the selection principles of the eco-economic suitable agricultural leading industry are summarized and a group of indexes of evaluating the regional agricultural leading industry is established, and an evaluating model by synthesis analysis is established.3.The method used in the determination of regional agricultural leading industries is that first the indicator system for the determination of agricultural leading industries has been established, later the selected agricultural industries in the second step are analyzed by the local condition and local relative advantages. This method is better than the quantitative analysis, which is limited by the data inadequacy, and also better than the quality analysis.4.Daye County of Hubei Province is taken as a case study. Some empirical analysis and preliminary evaluation on the county agricultural leading industries are made. The agricultural economic system of Daye County is diagnosed and the status of agricultural production structure is analyzed. Based on the diagnosis results, put the more advantageous agricultural industries into the evaluation model, and make a quantitative analysis. The main problems in the structures are found and 5 agricultural industries, which should be strengthened in the future, have been defined in this thesis.
