A Review Of The Movement Of "Learning From Dazhai In Agriculture"

The movement of "Learning from Dazhai in Agriculture"is an interlude that can't be ignored during our Party's explorations of a road to agricultural modernization of our Country. It had very complicated and far-reaching effects on the development of agriculture in our country. Before "the Cultural Revolution", the main trend of the movement of "Learning from Dazhai in Agriculture"was to develop agriculture by way of the spirit of Dazhai. But under the guidance of wrong "left"thought, the movement stepped into the wrong road of "urging to work energetically by perpetual criticizing "gradually after the rising of "the Cultural Revolution ", and became a political movement that persued "left"theory and policies in an all-round way. The movement damaged peasants'rights and interests, endangered the countryside greatly, and made the agricultural development of our country deeply stuck in predicaments. It also made our agriculture move about with great difficulty and agricultural modernization fluctuate and even fall back. On the whole, the movement reflected the thoughts of our Party's exploration of a road to agricultural modernization of our country: (1) thought of relying on the mass campaigns to "get going and go all out"; (2) dialectics of "Stressing revolution to promote production"; (3) normal form which peasants developed without leaving the land and got rich collectively; (4) thought of "high accumulation and low consumption", producing first and then living, thus to develop agriculture with higher speed; (5) attempt to promote the development of productivity by way of changing the productive relations constantly. Practice had proved that these explorations failed to solve the road problem of agricultural modernization in our country because of subjective and objective reasons, but they offered valuable historical inspiration and references for our Party's exploration of a new road to agricultural modernization with the distinctly Chinese characteristics during the new period:(1)We must deny the wrong-doings of promoting economic construction with the masses campaigns firmly; (2)We must abandon the wrong-doings of promoting economic construction with political movements and class struggles;(3)We must deal with the proportion of accumulation and consumption properly;(4)We must insist on the economic common development of many kinds of ownership , let some people get rich first and then lead others get rich commonly;(5)We must obey the law that productive relations must be suitable for the productivity state.
