Impacts Of Urbanization On The Life Of Peasants In The Suburb Of The City

The establishment of small town is important to the urbanization, which is helpful to solve the problem of rural, agriculture and peasants faced by China, and crucial to the overall economic growth. This paper explores the evolution of urbanization and policies in China, then analyzes the two patterns of urbanization: the self-urbanization based on industrialization in the eastern coastal provinces and the urbanization without the basis of industrialization dominated by government in the center and west of China.Based on the general idea of urbanization and field survey, this paper comes to some conclusion about the impacts of urbanization on the life of peasants in the suburb of the city. It is expected that urbanization is helpful to provide more employment, promote the diversity of income and accelerate the structure adjustment of industry, so it is safe to say the income of peasants is experiencing a significant increase. At the same time, there is an improvement in their consumption, including the availability of goods and services and the structure of consumption. But the negative impacts focus on the life environment around them and ground political system. Additionally, there are many unobservable impacts existing, such as the social strata and the change of mind, but all these are difficult to be measured.Finally, this paper put forward some advice; we think that the proper treatment of compensation for the land acquisition of urban construction, the improvement of social net and rural education and some related problems is important to the life of peasants and further urbanization.
