Construct Of Chinese Characteristic Public Sphere

Constructing a European public sphere is one of the most important achievements of the 18^th century It"for the first time it let the common masses appear in the history and jutify the democracy."However, with"tool rationality"extremely widely known, the original meaning of"public sphere"is destroyed by the paralleling"state"and"society", so the reconstruction of the public sphere became people's wishes, and scholars concern. However, the public sphere has been continuously seen as the product of the capitalist society. There is a great dispute in our academic circles about whether the public sphere in our country exists. Through the inspection of modern Chinese society, we found that the shape of public sphere had appeared in China in the early 20^th century. Although with war intensified and media tightened by the government, the public sphere has sharp declined. But it played a positive effect to the construction of Chinese nation-state and the changing of society. Nowadays, with the modernization , globalization and the development of networking, modern public sphere is dynamic growing. But it appears two tends in the growing of Chinese public sphere, that is: the public of the private sphere and the privacy of public area which makes the public sphere of our country at the edge of subversion. So constructing a healthy and rational public sphere with Chinese characteristic is on the way.This article bases on the contemporary China's reality, using concept western public sphere, on the basis of creation and development of western public sphere, the analysis of status of our country'sphere as a start, points out the possibility of constructing a public sphere in China and the overall idea to construct a public sphere with Chinese characteristic. The forming of public sphere with Chinese characteristic should be a process of constructing and nurturing which is a top-down, bottom–up two-way interaction between state and society. Nurturing the public sphere with Chinese characteristic is not likely to be one thing, it must be a gradual, progressive process. However the public areas have been used in China, it will has Chinese uniqueness. It will play a proper role in our social development, economic prosperity and political stability and itself will be constantly improving in the development of our country.
