Crime is a particular product of class society. The study of its causation, development, and treatment is the main task of Criminology. Traditional criminological theory mostly consists of three research fields: the phenomenology of crime, the etiology of crime, and crime prevention. Its rich content includes not only the political, economical, cultural, and conventional influence of a class society upon the crime problems but also a comparative analysis of crimes caused by biological and psychological differences among individual criminals. We can easily identify a clue centered on crime and the criminal. This thinking model has long determined the research interest of criminology and the investing ratio on the crime prevention system. However, the crime prevention strategy singly aimed at criminal and potential criminal was being increasingly negated by crime realities. The fruitlessness of this prevention strategy has already proved its limitation and unilateralism. In 1940s, western scholars paved a new way of research with emphasis on the perspective of victimization and the victim of crime. In near half century after victimology appeared, theory of crime prevention based on victimization and the victim had been further enriched and considered. The unilateralism of crime prevention strategy was broken. Crime prevention and victim prevention are properly positioned according to their functions in this new prevention strategy system. This thesis will selectively explain some questions about the victimization prevention with the purposes of illustrating its context, understanding its nature, bringing up precautions, and therefore preventing crime effectively.It consists of three parts:Part one discusses the basic theory of victimization prevention. Victim is the subject of criminal victimization. It is therefore necessary for us to have a clear conception of victim before we can talk about the overall crime prevention.
