Research Of Labor Standards Issue In The Regional Economic Integration

The labor standards issue is the hot topic which is much discussed and debated about in the international community. EU and US have always committed themselves to linking labor standard with trade in the WTO regime and encountered many barriers. So they have retargeted the original goal to the enforcement of the labor standard in the regional ecomonic intergration. The delevoped countries have not given up the restatement of labor standard in the WTO and reversely taken the labor standard as the platform in the regoinal economic integration and eventually incorporated them into multi-lateral trade negotiations. Being a developing country with abundant labor resources,China should pay high attention to this issue. In addition, the labor standard is not only one international economic issue, one international political issue, one international social issue, but also a rather sensitive and complex international legal issue. Therefore,research of labor standards in the regional economic integration is in dire need regarding either theoretical construction or practical requirements.Based on the viewpoint of law and policy ,the paper will carry out a systematic study of labor standards of such regional economic integration organizations as NAFTA,EU and AFTA by means of inductive method,deductive method ,method of comparative analysis ,and also will put forward several enlightenments and some suggestions for coping with the relevant problems at the end of the thesis.With regard to the structure ,the thesis is composed of introduction,body and conclusion .And the body part will be divided into six chapters.Chapter one ,the general introduction,expounds the conception of labor standard ,form of expression and implementation.First,the paper will define the labor standard and then compare and analyze several important conceptions relevant to labor standards.
