Using interview to select leading talent, may trace back to the tribe leader's selection in the later period of primitive society. In our country, interview is an important part of public selection for high-ranking officials now. It's testing efficacy improving need improvement of system and innovations on method. However, the development of interviewing method is not only depended on the situation of society, but also depended on the people's understanding.Based on this problem, through the different comparison of design method, implement method, and appraisal method, this thesis mainly discusses the understanding root of interview method. The basic opinions and conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the leading talent's interview is a direct-viewing test, which is under proper circumstances according to the need of leadership post. And the officials use many kinds of media and methods of asking, listening, and observing and so on to evaluate the comprehensive quality of people who take part in it.Secondly, the method of leading talent's interview can be divided into design method, implement method and appraisal method. It can resolve various problems in leading talent's interview; ensure that the leading talent's interview works regularly.Thirdly, the method of leading talent's interview takes form in one's own interview, movable interview, structured interview and holographic interview four developing stage. It has experienced from general to separate, concrete to abstract, and unilateral to comprehensive.Fourthly, the different testing effect of the method of leading talent's interview is based on the people level of understanding. Those are the different understanding of their own development, the different understanding of the human's behavior when they are in the interview, and the different understanding of influence of interview environment.Fifthly, the rising efficacy of public selection for high-ranking officials' interview in our country depends on the scientific structure of method system, including design method, implement method and appraisal method. At the same time, a professional official troop is needed.
