Since Australia established the diplomatic relations with China in1972,therelationship between those two countries has been not very smooth, because therewere lots of obstacles that hindered the development of Sino-Australia relationship,such as different political regimes and ideologies and Australian feeling of "westernrecognition". But to sum up, especially after the new century, Sino-Australia madeobvious progress and developed readily day by day, not only in politics, economy,but also in science and culture.This thesis consists five parts. The first part simply reviews the developmenthistory of Sino-Australia. In the second part, the author introduces the developmentof politics, economy, science and culture and security in those recent years,particularly in the new century. The thesis predicts the prospect of Sino-Australiarelations and analyses the reason why they have made such progress in the thirdpart. And the fourth part mainly studies the obstacle factors that impedes theirrelationship' development. The following part offers some suggestions what Chinashould do to promote the relationship. At last, the author present his own thinkingabout China' South-Pacific diplomatic strategies.
