| Nowadays, in information society, Information literacy has become a significant part of the integrated qualities of modern people,.Police Colleges of different levels and kinds, as the major front of our modern policing talents training, should start training their students' information literacy right now. By a self-arranged questionnaire, this thesis observed 333 (studying in Dalian and Anshan Police Colleges) students (graduates and undergraduates)' information literacy situation from the aspects of information sense, information knowledge, information ability and information ethical relativism. the results showed that in nowadays, police college students' information literacy are commonly pretty low, the whole situation is unsatisfied. Detailed expressions are the information literacy sense of the learning staff is weak, the foundation of information knowledge is short, information capacity based on computers and network is terribly urgent, understanding on ethical relativism is not clear. By comparing and analyzing the factors affecting students' information literacy level, we drew the following 3 conclusions: Firstly, the graduates' information literacy level is much better than that of the undergraduates; Secondly, Difference between the urban and rural areas affects the information literacy definitely; Lastly, Family factor and family income situation showed little affections on information literacy. Concerning the researching results, this thesis presented some corresponding measures and advices on how to improve police college students' information literacy from the point of college management and teachers.
