The Redefinition of U.S.-Japan Alliance in 1990s is the exemplar of adjustment andconsolidation for the bilateral alliance after Cold War. As one of major bilateral relationsin the present international community, the consolidation of U.S.-Japan Alliance hassuffered from many frustrations. And it's the sublimation of alliance which hassurmounted economic obstacles between the two countries. Although the U.S.-JapanAlliance is the result of Cold War, it not only finds its way to exist after that, but upgradesto a higher level comparing with the predecessor which enables alliance cooperation toget strengthened and the related fields has been expanded. The thesis analyzes and studiesthe redefinition of U.S.-Japan alliance and explores the reasons of consolidation on thebase of their national strategies from a relatively objective angle, as well as the influenceand actual effects of such changes.Begin with economic issues between the United State and Japan, this thesisgradually turns to focus on the choice of the direction of U.S.-Japan alliance for the twocountries. As the policy support of external national benefit quest, the national strategiesare the fundamental factors of the consolidation of U.S.-Japan alliance. From the start ofnational strategies of the United State and Japan, the thesis deeply analyzes the base andintrinsic factors of the consolidation of U.S.-Japan alliance. Then, it expounds anddiscusses the effects and influence in five aspects, namely the United States and Japan,Asia and the Pacific, international situation and China. Moreover, the thesis analyzes theeffects to the Asia and the Pacific situation especially to our national security caused bythe consolidation of U.S.-Japan alliance, and provides some relevant tactics. Facing to thepowerful U.S.-Japan alliance, it's more important for us to cognize its essence andintrinsic contradiction correctly and sufficiently, exerts our function of balance, improvesthe occasion, break through the encirclement to strive for our development.
