This paper discusses the policies of US-Japan Alliance in the perspective of international politics after the cold war. Since the US-Japan Alliance was established, the special alliance has played a very important role in international affairs. Because the policy of alliance is confidential, some alliance policies are not known by the public. Therefore, this paper tries to analyze the research result and relative information about the alliance given by the scholars to expound America's global hegemony policy, the policies to strengthen the alliance, and Japan's foreign policy after the cold war to gives a further look at a series of changes in the multi-dimensional and to analyze the stability and contradictoriness. The paper includes introduction, body, and conclusion. They are as follows:The Introduction describes the development history of the alliance and the significance of this research. It is divided into three chapters:The first chapter focuses on analyzing the America's East Asia coalition policy after the World Warâ…¡. After the war, the United States established a series of global hegemony strategic and made alliance to curb the socialist countries especially the Soviet Union in order to capture America's global dominance. After the cold war, the United States launched a serious of policies to strengthen relationship of the US-Japan Alliance, adjusted the relation of policy, so as to compensate the US-Japan Alliance in the Asia-pacific region, to maintain dominance in the world.Chapter Two expounds Japan's policy towards America after the cold war comprehensively. After the cold war, that the Soviet Union disintegrates, the United States became exclusive superpower which changes the world pattern enormously and makes the trend of multi-polarization of the world structure increasingly clear. After decades of Japan's postwar development, the pursuit of political power demands intensified, so Japan has developed to the pursuit of a "political power" of the national strategy. First of all, this chapter analyzes the geopolitical environment of Japan after the cold war, especially gives a detailed interpretation the rise of China, Russia and the further deterioration of north Korean nuclear issue etc. According to the complicated geopolitical environment and the national strategy of Japan to become the "political power", this chapter analyzes Japan's three major foreign policy in details- "Japan-US base axis" diplomatic strategy, "the Asian one" diplomatic strategy, "the United Nations Centre "Diplomatic Strategy. Through the preliminary analysis of Japan's diplomatic strategy, this chapter expounds the changes of Japan towards the US-Japan alliance policy and the policies to strengthen the US-Japan alliance after the cold war. According to the research in Chapterâ… the America's global hegemony ,to strengthen the strategic alliance, and Chapterâ…¡analyzes Japan's diplomatic strategy and policy of alliance, in this chapter it gives three aspects: Firstly, examine mainly the essence of the alliance, so that we can understand the alliance relationship, Secondly, the inherent difficulties to the alliance is analyzed. Thirdly, mainly expounds on the alliance in the Asia-Pacific region, especially for the influence of China's rising.Chapter Three predicts and analyzes the trend of the US-Japan Alliance. After the cold war the strengthen of US-Japan Alliance gives Japan a further enhancement of international status, but the America's desire of being dominant in the Asian-Pacific region has never been weakened. While under this condition, the US-Japan Alliance relation is seemingly indestructible but it is not always smooth sailing, and it is still difficult between the two countries. In this chapter, firstly it analyzes the stability and contradiction of US-Japan Alliance. This chapter mainly explains the reason why US-Japan Alliance still exits after the cold war, US-Japan alliance and the strategic objectives both within the inconsistencies and inequities of the status of the US-Japan alliance there is a certain contradiction. Through the analysis of the stability and the contradiction of the alliance, in Chapter Two I discuss the US-Japan alliance and the tendency in the future. The conclusion emphasizes the alliance relation as a military alliance, since the establishment of the two countries is highly valued. But the US-Japan Alliance is extremely important in the history of relations between America and Japan. And at the same time, it becomes an indispensible part in American Strategy in Asian-Pacific region and it also provides Japan a platform to the whole world.
