Rosa Luxemburg and Lenin were two professionally proletarian revolutionaries who nearly lived at the same historical period. Though they have set up a friendship and cooperation lasting for two decades and made a great contribution to the development of Marxist theory. They had disagreements and controversies when facing some theoretical and practical problems of International Communist Movement still, especially on the questions of inner-party organization, the relationship between the masses and the leaders and the problems of socialist democracy, etc. Facing their disagreements, Rosa Luxemburg ever published some ideas that were different from Lenin's, on which they had got into a long-term argument. In history, people hold different opinions on their controversies, and most of them thought Lenin was right while Rosa Luxemburg was wrong. Consequently, people's study on Rosa Luxemburg got into a perennial misunderstanding circle. This thesis aims to clarify Rosa Luxemburg and Lenin's long-term argument so as to appraise historical characters and their thoughts impersonally and justly. The present paper analyzes and compares Rosa Luxemburg's democratic theory, Lenin's democratic centralism theory and their argument on this point systematically and roundly by using Marxism's position, viewpoint on the basis of historical and impersonal attitude and methods, from the international and internal environment, the inner-party situation and their position they both faced.This thesis dissertate the comparative research of Rosa Luxemburg's democratic theory and Lenin's democratic centralism theory mainly from the following aspects:â… ,The democratic theory of Rosa Luxemburg. According to the works of Rosa Luxemburg, impersonally, systematically and roundly elucidate her inner-party democratic theory (mainly introduce the organization question of the party ,that is the relationship of democracy and centralism ,the relationship of the leaders and the masses)and the socialist democratic theory so as to offer dependable theoretical foundation for us to know and evaluate her democratic theory rightly.â…¡,The democratic centralism theory of Lenin. The democratic centralismtheory--the fundamental organizational principle and organizational system--aregradually formed, expanded and perfected in the process of its establishment. Lenin, the revolutionary teacher, plays a crucial role in the bringing forward, development and perfect of the theory. This part systematically expounds the form and development of Lenin's democratic centralism theory and its major contents.â…¢,The comparative analysis of the democratic theory of Rosa Luxemburg and the democratic centralism theory of Lenin. On the basis of clearly understanding the democratic theory of they two, this part mostly analyses their difference and the reason of producing the difference on the issue of inner-party democracy (analyzing the relationship of democracy and centralism, the relationship of the leaders and the masses) and socialist democracy.â…£,The lessons of the comparative study of the democratic theory of Rosa Luxemburg and the democratic centralism theory of Lenin. Through expounding the democracy theory of Rosa Luxemburg and the democratic centralism theory of Lenin concretely, analyzing the differences of their theories, we get many useful lessons for administers on how to strengthen the construction of the party in power, and how to construct socialist harmonious society today.
