The Muslim separatist movement in Philippine was formed in 60s of 20th century. It reached its first climax in 70s and in the post cold–war ear it rose again.. At present it still disturbs Philippine and the whole Southeast Asia . The Movement whose boundary is beyond Philippine is combined closely with the Islam Revivalism , which shows new characteristics that the national separatism, religion extremism and the terrorism has interwoven together .The Muslim separatist movement in Philippine threatens the politics, economy and the security of Philippine and the whole Southeast Asia. It has drown the attention of many countries.Therefore, wide range and thorough investigation and study on the origin, development and trends of Philippine Muslim separatist movement can reveal its regular patterns, which bear not only important theoretical value, but also positive and realistic implications.Through the introduction of the history and present situation of the Muslim separatist movement, combined with the changes of Philippine's domestic politics and economy, along with the changes in the history background, this paper explains the origins of, the causes for and the essence of the revival of the Muslim separatist movement in Philippine at this time in an attempt to find out the regular patterns of this separatist movement, and puts forward its proposal on the trends and the measures the government of Philippine should take to deal with these trends. The main structure and content of this paper are as follows:The introduction explains the significance of this thesis, its theoretical framework and methodology including related research both at home and abroad, and to define some terms applied in this paper.The second chapter mainly introduces the history of the Philippine Muslim separatist movement during the cold-war ear and the government's measures when dealing with it.The first part of the third chapter outlines the situation of the Philippine Muslim separatist movement during post-cold war ear. And the second part emphasizes on the political solution of this problem and evaluates on the continual measures of Philippine government after the underwriting of 1996 Peace Agreement. The fourth chapter includes three parts .The first part reveals the characteristics of the Philippine Muslim separatist movement. While the second part summarizes the causes for the Movement . The third part analyzes the measures taken by the Philippine government after 9.11.The fifth chapter relates the revelation of the Philippine Muslim separatist movement. Ending words sums up the main points of the article.
