On The Moral Defects Of Democratic System Operation

This thesis discusses the moral defects that are poosibly existing in the operating process of democratic system, under the premise of considerating it, currently, as the best political system, so as to manifest the intrinsic moral values of democratic system and make it have moral rationality.Starting with the meaning of democracy from three different levels , this thesis discusses the relationship between democratic system and its operation, arguing that the main reasons for existing moral defects in democratic system operation are as follows: it pays attention to legality, stesses on technicality and the design imperfection. Meanwile, the thesis also points out moral defects in democratic system operation don't mean the actual existing in democratic system. What's more, this thsis discusses the main moral defects that maybe appear in the operation of democratic system from three perspectives, it argues moral defects of democratic system operation existing in the initial design are: the competition among individual interests, the autonomy of organizations, the citizen's inconfidence to the government; moral defects in the process of operating are the unreasonability of democratic system, the peremptoriness of force, the abuse of power; moral defects in the results of operating are the excessive attention paid to individual rights, the aggravation of inequality, neglection of public interests. According to these kinds of defects, this thesis puts forward measures from two different aspects to perfect the operation of democratic system. On one hand, we manifest the intrinsic moral values of democratic system as our basis, such as freedom, equality, justice, tamimoto; on the other hand, we also need to adopt some other measures such as carrying out deliberative democratic system, improving man's quality, perfecting the legal regulations, narrowing the gap between rich and poor, constructing an equal and justice kind of atmosphere in our society. In this thesis, we think that only face up to these moral defects could we actively take relevant measures to effectively perfect the operating of democratic system, so as to implement all the intrinsic moral values of democratic system, and serve man's life in a positive way.
