Research On The Model Of Urban Community Providing For The Aged In China

Along with the pricking up of population aging in our country, the problem of provide for the aged has become an unneglectable issue in our social life in China. However, owing to the change of family structure, traditional family support and social support have not been fit for the actual situation of the China. With the development of the community, it becomes the support and carrier for many kinds of services gradually. Under this condition, the station of urban community providing for the aged becomes more and more important, and it has been developing vigorously.Presently, many scholars focus on research about the endowment insurance in providing for aged problem, namely ensure of the physical life. However, along with the development of economy and advancement of the society, besides of the needs on material, the aged have much more needs on health, spirit and culture. Therefore, this paper fastens on the providing modes for the aged. Firstly, the paper gives a definition and relevant theory on community and community providing for the aged, then following with the actuality of community's services in our China, analyzing the shortcoming of traditional modes for the aged and the necessity and feasibility of the new mode for the aged. Secondly, it gives an introduction of the practices of community providing for the aged in foreign countries. Thirdly, based on the situation of our country, in order to meet the needs of the urban aged and achieve the aim of "providing for the aged, health care for the aged, teaching for the aged, recreating for the aged, learning for the aged, working for the aged", the paper designs a reasonable urban community model for aged, which is composed of community care as the main fact, community activity as the minor fact, and participate in society as the complement fact. Meanwhile the paper puts forward a series of measures for promoting the development of the model and the issues we should pay attention to in concepts, policies and laws, resource of funds, service people and so on.
