Marie-Jean-Antoine-Nicolas de Caritat, Marquis de Condorcet is most often referred to as the last philosopher during the French Enlightenment. He was an outstanding proponent of human rights and supported women and men should enjoy equal political rights. He advocated freedom, equality, democracy and republic, and put his plan for women's rights under the framework of the Constitution of the Republic. Furthermore, he also believed that human beings could reach to a better future with the help of the rationalism. This paper will display Condorcet's ideas on women's liberation and advocacy by studying the four issues on women and other related literature written by him. All this will turn up before and after the French Revolution's political background in eighteenth century, combined with Condorcet's personal experience during this period. In this article, I want to clarify Condorcet's thoughts on gender equality and women's political rights and the way how to gain it by analyzing the developments and changes of context. Condorcet regarded the same ideological education as the most affective and ultimate way of getting women's political equality. His idea was superior to his contemporaries, but his plan for women's liberation failed immediately. I will explain the reasons why such inspired thoughts could not become a reality at that time, meanwhile, to clarify the influence that came from Condorcet on the liberation and the equal political rights of women.
