Alexithymia,literally without word for feelings,is a unique personality construct.it is mainly characterized by a difficultu in identifying and expressing feelings,a striking paucity of fantases,a utilitarian way of thinking and a difficulty in distinguishing between felling and physical sensations.Now,one trend in alexithymia research is study the charater of alexithymia in different group.Our research based on the researches home and abroad,mainly studies on the alexithymia in prisoners and the relationship between alexithymia and the basic factor of personality by using literature analysis,the inventory survey metods,variance analysis and so on.Objective:(1) Examine reliability and validity of the Chinese version twenty-item Toronto alexithymia scale in prisoners;(2) To investigate the influence factors of alexithymia and the relationship between alexithymia and personality(16PF,BFI) in prisoners;(3) Build a norm of alexithymia for prisoners in china.Totally,this study gets the conclusions as following:1.The Chinese version of the TAS-20 was a reliable and valid measure for assessing alexithymia in chineses prisoner sample.2.In our study sample,there is 43.7%prisoners have high alexithymia score,this ratio is pretty hign.Gender,marital status,the degree of education,Age and the type of criminal can influence alexithymia's score.3.The personality factors have significantly correlation with alexithymia;and partial personality fators could explain alexithymia.path analysis indicated that personality factors can influence alexithymia directly and can influence alexithymia by depression.4.we builded an elementary age and the degree of education norm of alexithymia(TAS-20) in prisoners.The national norm made is conductive to futher research.
