Job assignment system of ex-servicemen is not only an important part of national military system, but a special social security system as well. It requires the state and society to provide employment, funds and services needed by other settlement, among which the re-employment after retirement is the most important aspect. Great progress has been achieved in the job assignment system of ex-servicemen after eighty years' development. With the establishment and reformation of socialist market economic system, however, some new problems arise in China's contemporary job assignment system of ex-servicemen and these problems call for reform and complete to solve. Titled with A Study of the Problems of China's Ex-servicemen Job Assignment in the New Period, this paper firstly analyzes the connation, characteristics and functions of the present job assignment system of ex-servicemen in China, and explores its changes over the past eighty years since the foundation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Then it compares the systems home and abroad, and macroscopically and microscopically interprets the policy, the condition and the principal contradictions in the present ex-servicemen job assignment. Finally the paper brings forward the basical framework and ideas to reform and improve the job assignment system of ex-servicemen in China, hoping to provide some reference and inspiration for the reform in this field in the new period.
