A Tentative Study On The Issues Of Ethnic Groups In The Construction Of Chinese Socialist Economy

The economic and social development in the areas of ethnic minorities has always been a big concern to our party. The acceleration of economic and social development is not only a major economic issue but also a major political issue, which is related to the overall situation of the building of a well-off society, related to national unity and progress, flourish and prosperity of the areas, and it is also a fundamental way of solving all the problems in the areas of minorities. Our party has always been attaching a great importance to the national work. In the long time period of revolutionary struggle and construction, our party combined the Marxist theory on the ethnic problems with Chinese reality to formulate a set of ethnic guidelines and policies. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, under the guidance of national policy of our Party, China's national work, for sixty years, has been constantly exploring and created a path which suits China's national situation with Chinese characteristics of settling the ethnic issues, and this path will also continue to extend in practice.After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Party Conference, the Party Central Committee, under the new historical period of the conditions and specific situations of all ethnic groups, has made and implemented some ethnic policies which were conducive to economic and cultural development, conducive to the realization of the rights of regional autonomy for ethnic minorities, and these policies will become better depending on the situation in the future. In the new era, the theme of the times is changing, and the question of development has become of the major rhyme of the times. The central task of the whole country had turned into the economy, and the economic construction has become the overwhelming task. Therefore, the theme of the ethnic issues has changed, and Chinese ethnic questions have been mainly for the nation's economic and cultural development.The backwardness of the economy is bound to lead to the backwardness of the socialist cause. The culture and education in minority areas is also very underdeveloped. The western region is mainly inhabited by the ethnic minorities, and the gap between economic and social development is different in these ethnic areas and each minority has its own feature. From a national perspective, economic and social development of ethnic minorities in the western region lags far behind. The underdevelopment of the economy will lead to a series of social problems, of course, including the ethnic issues. The superiority of socialism lies in the common prosperity, which can reflect something of the nature of socialism. If there exist two polarizations in China, the situation would be different. The issues of ethnic conflict and regional conflict will emerge, and class difference will be enlarged. Correspondingly, the central government and the local governments will have conflicts, the country will mess up. The facts have proven that the issue of the backwardness of economic and social development in minority areas in the western region has become a very hot issue. This requires the big development of the western region, the development of all ethnic groups so as to solve the problem. So the acceleration of the development in the ethnic minority areas is the fundamental approach and an important guarantee of narrowing the development gap among the ethnic groups and realizing the equality of nationalities.
