The phenomenon of "migrant workers" is one of the products of China's economic reforms and institutional change since the end of the 1970s. The number of the migrant workers increases from 120 million in the early 1980s to 2 billion now, which accounts for 60% of the total industrial workers in China. And as the group of cheap labor force, migrant workers contribute a lot to China's manufacturing and construction industry and services for the prosperity and further development of city. However, migrant workers are not benefited from those contributions at all. They are still at the bottom of society, live hard, prostrate forward. Whenever we mention the reason leads to the hard life of migrant workers, we are blurred by the old system which centers at household registration system, but ignore the disadvantages and shortcomings of the migrant workers. We even could not give "migrant employment ability" the accurate definition and the factors which have the influential impact on it, how dare we talk about improving their ability and increasing their employment rate?Up to now, there are mainly two views on the definition of employability of migrant workers. One view is that the employability of migrant workers is just equal to the overall quality of migrant workers. And the quality structure determines the employment structure. The current overall quality of migrant workers mainly consists of three aspects: scientific and cultural qualities, labor skills and the acceptability of urban civilization. While the other view is based on the analytical framework of foreign employment ability. It covers from the beginning of Furrier's definition of employment ability will have human capital, to the middle of the employment ability of Pallard consider includes not only human capital but also social capital, again until Fugate added career identity and personal adaptability. Obviously, it's easy to conclude that the former opinion is limited to the description of the concept and lack of theoretical foundation, and the latter theory just makes foreign things serve China, neglecting local characteristics of migrant workers as a special group. From the above analysis, it can be said that there are rare accurate definition for the employability of migrant workers and the relevant studies on it is short of empirical research. This dissertation takes human capital theory and social capital theory as the starting point of the research of the employability of migrant workers. The full context can be divided into seven parts. The first part illustrates the origin of the research, theoretical and practical significance, and introduces the outlines, content and research methods of the dissertation; the second part reviews home and abroad relevant theoretical results and evaluates the current situation of those researches; the third part analyses the construction, influential factors and evaluation methods of employability of the migrant workers, and draws a series of theoretical assumptions based on the relevant researches; The fourth part analyzes the sample data from the survey using the SPSS software in order to verify the assumptions; The fifth part shows the research results based on the survey analysis and makes comments on those results. The sixth part makes concrete suggestions and solutions to the results from five aspects. And the last part of the article draws conclusions and makes further anticipation: the main research findings and its application, research limitations and shortcomings, and the direction of further study. In order to find out the definition of the employability of migrant workers in depth, observe the factors affect the employability of migrant workers. The author chose age and sex these two variables to analyze the individual characteristics of migrant workers, chose education level, expertise, training experiences and health condition these four variables to analyze the human capital of the migrant workers; and chose social position and relationship strength these two variables to analyze migrant workers' social capital condition, chose the ability to get a job and the ability to maintain the job to analyze the employability of migrant workers. Through the empirical analysis, the author drew eight conclusions as follows: the male migrant workers can achieve higher position compared to females, the age positively correlated to the number and duration of the job; expertise has the strongest positive influence on the number of jobs the migrant workers get; education level has the strongest positive relation with the speed of getting a job, duration and position of the job; health condition shows no correlation with number, duration and position of the job and the speed of finding a job; there was a significant positive correlation between economic condition and the ability to get a job and the ability to maintain the job; strong social relation shows significant positive influence on number of duration of the work and weak social relation also has strong positive correlation with the number of the work.
