China's Diplomatic Effort On Promoting The Establishment Of FTA

At present, the establishment of a free trade area has become a national market for resources and expands space for development to enhance the international status of an important strategic tool. In 2001, our countries take a new step forward to take part in free trade agreements after China's accession to the WTO. With the China - ASEAN Free Trade Area negotiations starting, as well as our country with a number of countries signing bilateral free trade agreements to speed up the rhythm, our country entered a regional economic cooperation in a new stage. In such circumstances, Chinese government has adjusted the new key-point of foreign trade policy to establish free trade area rapidly. By multi-level diplomatic effort, such as the Summit Diplomacy, the economic diplomacy implemented concretely by commerce department , and the function diplomacy by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement the strategy of the free Trade Area and promote a more active free trade area construction. Though the prospect is hopeful, there are still some problems and defects which need our high attention as well as deeply and serious research. At present, because of the international financial crisis, global free trade is facing the immense challenges. In the current circumstances, speeding up free trade area construction, It is of great significance to the international financial crisis, the promotion of sustainable and stable development of the national economy.
