Legal philosophy,from the viewpoints of philosophers is a branch of philosophy in the study of the law, is the world outlook and methodology about law. But explained in any event that the law philosophy's existence and the development can't leave the powerful impetus and the instruction the philosophy gives. In the 1840s, on the foundation of critically inherited the predecessor thought of legal philosophy, Marx established the Marx's thought of legal philosophy starting from the dialectical materialism and historical materialism.This article attempts to take Marx's representative work each time as a clue and comb the formation and developing process of Marx's thought of legal philosophy from the early time to the maturation period. In the foundation of restoring the Marx's legal philosophy's original condition, the article summarize Marx's thought of legal philosophy from a philosophical macoscopic theoretically for the following three aspects: the law ontology, the law value and the law methodology. These three aspects most intently manifested the Marx's legal philosophy theory achievement. Marx's legal philosophy is the important component in the whole of Marx's philosophic thinking. Marx's legal philosophy is in a profound impact on the western legal philosophy in its thorough criticism spirit, promoted simultaneously and enhanced the fundamental research of Chinese legal philosophy. Marx's legal philosophy also has the significant guiding sense to the contemporary Chinese legislative work, prominently displaying in the humanist legal values.
