Interpersonal relationship is an important factor that influences and supports mental health, and is a basic and necessary condition for healthy development of individual mental health. Therefore, mastering the characteristics of Armed Police Command College student interpersonal relations and taking effective interventions, can not only enhance the Armed Police Command College students'communication competence, but also improve their mental health, and then strengthen the fighting capacity of the Armed Police. This research adopts generally acknowledged standards with high reliability and validity to measure interpersonal relationships and mental health, investigates interpersonal relationships characteristics and mental health status of the Armed Police Command College students from different angles and depth, and probes into the similarities and differences of students differing in working and educating experience, age and terms of military service. Proceeding from the angle of interpersonal relationships, this research explores on ways to improve the Armed Police Command College students'mental health through educational interventions, to provide a theoretical foundation and meaningful guidance for psychological health education in Armed Police Command Colleges.This research adopts college students Interpersonal Comprehensive Diagnostic Scale, Interpersonal trust Scale (IT), Trust Others Scale, Accommodate Others Scale, Coping Style Questionnaire, Symptom Assessment Scale(SCL-90)and Personal Information Questionnaire to investigate 1115 students from 3 Armed Police Command Colleges, and carries on statistical analysis with SPSS10.0 software package after the survey data and test results collected. This research also conducts an investigation on educational intervention imposed to 98 students from 3 colleges to compare their mental health and interpersonal relationships status before and after the intervention. This research has obtained the following results:1.Overall speaking, students from the Armed Police Command Colleges perform less perplexed than ordinary college students in interpersonal relationships. Further research finds that:①Significant difference exists in percentage of students facing interpersonal relationships perplexity according their respective background. The proportion of soldier to college students facing interpersonal relationships perplexity is lower than that of high school to college students. The proportion of the Armed Police Command Colleges students facing interpersonal relationships perplexity shows a downward trend while their service term in the army increases. However, age is not the dominant influencing factor.②There exists no such significant differences between soldier to college students and high school to college students in interpersonal trust and accommodating others. While in the aspect of trusting others, students entering college from high school score prominently higher.2.Armed Police Command College students with different work and study background differ in mental health status. Soldier-to-college students score prominently higher than high school to college students. While their service term increases, their mental health status improves continuously, and trends to an average level. In all, mental status of Armed Police Command College students is better than the norm of college students from military academies, local universities and soldiers。3.When encountering setbacks, Armed Police Command College students mainly reply in a mature way, superior to the norm of local college students and soldiers. Soldier to college students employ mature ways to transact more frequently than high school to college students. With the increase of their service term in the army, the way Armed Police Command College students transact will be constantly improved.4. Through targeted educational interventions, not only the Armed Police Command College students interpersonal relationships can be improved, but also the level of their mental health can increase significantly.In a word, in order to improve the Armed Police Command College students interpersonal relationships and their mental health status, it is necessary to enhance the educational interventions focusing on short service term and high school to college students, set up Armed Police Command College students mental health records, carry out regular mental health examinations, master how college students mental health status change and take educational interventions.
