Research On The Function Of The Non-governmental Organizations In Today's International Politics

Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) are new and rising parts on international stage. During the recent years, with the increase of NGOs'number and the enlarging of NGOs'size, the international society's attention now focuses on the role of NGOs in international politics. Actually, the growth and development of NGOs as major players in international field not only impose profound impact on political,economic,culture and society undertakings of the countries all over the world, but also become important forces that exercise influence on the international systems and the pattern of international relations. But we also should see the negative effects of NGOs. Based on the analysis of the essential conditions of NGOs, the thesis intends to explore the effects of NGOs'development on contemporary international politics, with a large view of NGOs in international affairs. This thesis falls into six sections. Section one is prelude. Section two is the summary, analyzing the concept,characteristics,historical background of NGOs emergence and channels of NGOs'participation and operations. Section three and section four is the core of the thesis. They give a detailed account of the positive and negative effects of NGOs. Section five is ways to promoting the development of NGOs. Section six is conclusion.
