The Problems And Countermeasures Of The Left-behind Children In Rural

As the 1980s China's socialist construction in the new period, in order to adapt to the development of our productive forces, and the development of market economy, rural labor transfer to the city of China, it formed an unique phenomenon of worker tide. But in limited binary social structure characteristics, farmers transfer to city just people into cities, the identities are excluded and still remain in rural areas, so they keep status as farmers and be called migrant workers. The phenomenon of migrant workers is the inevitable result of China's urbanization. But with the appearance of migrant workers in China, there is a new large disadvantaged group appeared-"left-behind children" group. But because of the unfair treatment of migrant workers and their limitations, they cannot live together with their children,the children of the migrant workers can only stay in their hometown who be raised by their sigle-parent,grandparents or other persons. Left-behind children group in China who appeared in the process of socialist modernization produces the new problems that should not be ignored.This thesis is basic on the media coverage and the researchers of left-behind children problems, the phenomenon of left-behind children were studied under the guidance of tutor. First of all, I give my own concepts of left-behind children through lots of researchers who study left-behind children phenomenon. Left-behind children refers to the children who stay at the local hometown and be raised by other people or living themselves under the age of 18 when their parents come into the city. Secondly, this paper analyses the fundamental reasons, economic reasons, social reasons and policy reasons, then analyzed and summarized the problems of left-behind children present, such as left-behind children lack of education welfare and medical aid and so on. Finally, the thesis give two countermeasures to solve the existing problems of left-behind children, the first one is from the root of the left-behind children to solve the problems, such as reforming the household registration system, developing the rural economic and perfecting rural social security system, the second one is put forward some effective countermeasures to ease the problems in the circumstances of the problems are unable to solve completely now, such as the development of rural social welfare and social assistance, and non-governmental organizations are participating in social relief. So, the left-behind children can realize "all living under the same sky, progressing".
