Poppy cultivation and mankind have entered civilization at the same time.With the continuous expension of communication between different regions of the world, and the conversion from regional communication to global communication, poppy cultivation and opium use has been spreaded in the world wide, and it has formed three waves. Opium appeared firstly in Afghanistan can be traced back as early as 1st century BC.The period of formation of drug problem is between the end of 1970s and the beginning of 1990s, and the drug problem is serious in the next 20 years.The profound impact was triggered on politics, economy and society areas, and made druginazion on civil life in Afghanistan by drug problem. Otherwise, the drug problem bring great pressure and challenges on international community. We can see there are complex cause have created the Afghan drug problem.For the formation of Afghan drug problem, the failure of modernization is root cause, meanwhile, the loss of independent and non-aligned status is direct cause, otherwise, the suitable climate is necessary condition.Afghan drug problem has triggered a serious consequences in Afghan reconstruction. Drug problem weakens the ability of Afghan government, and hinders the reconciliation of relationship between ethlic group in Afghanistan, furthermore, it restricts the healthy development of Afghan economy and integration of Afghan national spirit, in addition, it makes the Afghan international image bad.From a historical perspective, Afghan drug problem have undergone the stage of rising and severe, so it will must have the period of comedown and perishing.The solution of afghan drug problem will be a long process, and only in the case of international community co-operation is possible.
