The lacking of legal mechanisms of the organization have hindered the deepening of economic function, so that economic cooperation functions developed have not been released. By talking some of the legal mechanism of restricting the economic functions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as the starting point, this work expresses the legal means is importance to deepening the economic function of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Meanwhile, rely on the reality of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states and the theory of regional economic cooperation, this paper analyzes the necessarity and feasibility on deepening the economic functions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, then comparatives the advantages and disadvantages of the EU, ASEAN, NAFTA by using comparative method, and then It hopes that this paper can provide valuable advice of deepening the economic function of the of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
