Georgia and Russia were plunged into conflict in South Ossetia in 2008. This conflict created an enormous and far-reaching impact. The essence of Russia-Georgia conflict was geo-strategic space competition between Russia and the U.S. In view of this angle, this paper wants to study the reason and influence of Russia-Georgia conflict from a geopolitical perspective which has important relevance.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part analyses the major origin and highlights of Russia-Georgia conflict. According to the article, Russia-Georgia conflict is a long-standing event, as they have different political choices and strategic objectives. The second part discusses the conflict from a geopolitical point of view, it includes Russia's geo-political situation,Georgia's geo-strategic position and a new round of geopolitical contest between Russia and the United States. The last part analyses the international impact of Russia-Georgia conflict.
