The Villager Committee Election And The Construction Of Countryside Political Culture In China

The central government, the clan forces and civilian forces are among the main power in China's countryside political struggle. In general, the evolution line is the clan forces - the central government–the civilian power. Since 1978, with the application of the reform and opening-up, the central government gradually retreated form the political struggle. At the same time, the civilian power become more and more stronger while the villagers committee election are more and more accepted in the countryside. After 20 years practice of the election, the concept of the democracy and political contract are more and more popular among farmers, thus give a push to the countryside democracy construction. However, neither the central government nor the clan forces retreat completely form the political struggle, moreover both are still play a role in the election while combined with the negative factors in countryside political culture. All those above mentioned lead to a serious problem in the election.This paper gives a through analysis to the vicissitudes of countryside political culture as well as a show to the relationship between the election and the culture, furthermore the positive development in the election from the view of the rural political culture. While giving advices for the healthy development of the countryside political culture, this paper is helpful to arouse explain all the questions in the election, as well as give a references for further study in the villager committee election. This paper is based on a seven months filed study by the author.
