Family percepts and rules is an important part of the traditional culture. They are all kinds of records about family education in ancient time of China, including poetry, roses, mottos, letters and so on. They are the records of family education to tell later generations how to be a good one, how to have a good family and how to conducting in society. To some extent they safeguarded social harmony and stability in that time. The ancient family percepts in China originated in the pre-Qin Dynasty, matured in Song-Yuan Dynasty, and were at the height of power and splendor and declined in Ming-Qing Dynasty. Family percepts and roles in Ming-Qing Dynasty not only expanded the former contents in cultivating moral character, but also improved some aspects such as female percepts, economy percepts, social teaching and so on. Some excellent contents are good to modern family education such as filial piety, predominant virtue, nation and family being united, modesty and courtesy, determination, encouragement, independence, diligence and so on.This thesis, firstly based on the elaboration of the origin, historical development, characteristics, social function and education methods in Ming-Qing Dynasty family percepts and roles, detailed studies some excellent contents in them. Secondly it analysis the modern family structure, family function, changes in child rearing patterns. On this basis, described the five families in the confusion of modern family education with case. Finally, In view of the actual situation of the modern family, the right remedy, described in Ancient Family house rules reflect the best thinking on education, content and methods of the modern home inspiration and application.
