The Influence Of Male Utmigration On The Family Role Of Rural Left-behind Women

Since the 1980s,a large number of surplus rural labor force in China has gradually transferred to the cities,and many male labor force choose to go out alone due to their limited practical conditions,leaving their wives at home.Rural men to reconstruct the traditional the geographical mobility,social division of labor based on gender and family power structure mode:in maintaining "in time" at the same time,to a large extent changed the pattern of "men",rural households that will no doubt effect on women's rights and obligations in the family status,so as to affect women's family role model.Under the guidance of role theory,social gender role division and resource theory,through the field survey of ZouMa township,PengShui county,ChongQing city and the form of case interview,this paper selected 10 left-behind women and un-left-behind women in the backbone and core family structure respectively,a total of 40 women were interviewed.From women's rights in the family(property management autonomy and control,major decision-making power,personal affairs)and family obligations(household division of labor,production division of division of labor,the family of public affairs)from two aspects of change,to the social transformation under the different family structure of left-behind women and non left-behind women's family roles are described,through the left-behind women compared with non left-behind women's family roles,tries to reveal the rural men flow's influence to female roles,and further from individual factors,family factors,social factors in three aspects,analysis of 12 men under the big background,Related influencing factors of family role change of left-behind womenThrough the research,it is found that the traditional social division of labor based on gender roles has been reconstructed to a large extent by husband's going out to work,thus affecting the left-behind women's family roles:in terms of family rights,women began to manage and control part of the family property,participate in or decided to major family decisions,decide space expanded personal affairs,public affairs more directly involved in the family,began to care for and participate in community public affairs,enlarged the scope of social,right field begins with the family,to the public domain family" " outside the main role is no longer a male's exclusive;From family obligations,"in Christ" strengthened the role of women,which took over the past mainly by her husband,or both sides of husband and wife share of productive labor,the auxiliary role of her husband in the housework reduce or even completely disappear,left-behind women become the main housework and family public affairs(or even the only).Overall,left-behind women role of internal and external balance,maintain the basic order of the family,the family role model change,while improving the left-behind women's family rights,but also increased women's labor burden and psychological stress,did not fundamentally change the status of men and women in family life and social structure pattern,patriarchy internalize into the family role,in many important family affairs,men still play a role of "leader",women are only "facilitator",rural families achieve the equivalence of men's and women's rights and obligations is still a long way.
