| With the rapid social economic development in Suzhou, the reform of fundamental education is going deeper; the innovation in education is being further improved; the qualification of teachers needs to better adapt to the requirements of the overall quality-oriented education; the development of teachers decides the height of the development of education. In order to better meet the needs of fostering innovative talents and reach the goal of building a"Learning City"which Suzhou municipal government has put forward, it is very important to work on the continuing education for the innovative teachers.The author adopted literature research methodology, survey and interviews, etc. to revise the origin of the teachers'continuing education in China first and then describe the development of the teachers'continuing education at home and abroad as well as their trends. Afterwards, the basic situation of the teachers'continuing education in Suzhou, especially in Caoqiao Middle School was analyzed, in which the preliminary achievements of the teachers'continuing education were presented and the existing problems of the current continuing education were discussed by means of listing the types of training, training institutions, law construction, training courses and its contents and training effects. Those problems include the diversion of some targets, the shortage of training experts, the outdated training methods and contents and the lack of evaluation and incentive, whose roots were deeply elaborated. Finally, the author gave some suggestions to improve the quality of the middle school teachers'continuing education in Suzhou, which were, firstly, to change concepts and have clear objectives; secondly, to protect incentive and use multiple evaluations; thirdly, to choose the contents related to school teaching and adopt flexible teaching methods.This dissertation aims to reflect the practical problems and puzzles met in the course of middle school teachers'self-development and professionalization. Meanwhile, the author also put forward some practical suggestions, hoping to make a contribution to the healthy development of middle school teachers'continuing education in our city. |
