In this new era, time has come when education is faced with new challenges as well as new opportunities for development. Belonging to a particular group of teachers and playing a special role in school administration, head-teachers have gradually got their status of"Head-teacher first"and"Being professional"well recognized and confirmed. However, they are meanwhile faced with the new challenge of how to promote their professional development. Educators, whether school administrators or head-teachers, should be aware of the importance of the professionalization of head-teachers, understanding the significance and implication of it. School leaders should provide a platform for head-teachers to have a further professional development. Head-teachers themselves should also self-consciously pursue the goal of their own professionalization, seek the approaches to becoming more professional, have a good command of the knowledge on how to become more professional systematically and improve their competencies to become better head-teachers. Thus, they are likely to be professionals who have professional ethics and can promote the development of students, schools, times and society. By presenting the current professional status of head-teachers and the appeal from secondary school students to have an overall development, this study is conducted to have an exploration in the following aspects, professional ethics , professional knowledge and professional competencies for head-teachers and the approaches to promoting their professionalization.
