The credit system, an advanced teaching management system, and a reflection of the people-oriented philosophy of education, is well received by many universities around the world and quite popular with teachers and students. The present research analyzes the problems involved in the practice of the credit system in the universities of our country through questionnaires and interviews, explores the major factors which hinders the smooth practice of the system and puts forward relevant countermeasures. The present thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter two is a deep analysis of the credit system in foreign universities through comparison, hoping to be an enlightenment to the practice and perfection of the credit system in our country. Chapter three analyzes the major restricted factors which hinders the smooth practice of the credit system in our country by discussing its history and present condition.
