The twenty-first century is a century full of opportunity and challenge. The education in this century should be a kind of education which can not only attract students, improve students'quality, develop students'individual personality, but can also improve the whole nation's quality. At present, the demand of improving the whole nation's quality in English becomes higher with the development of our society and economy. According to the demand and spirit of the education reform in the curriculum of middle schools, which is based on the new criterion of the English curriculum, there come some new regulations and suggestions proposed by the Ministry of Education of China. During the whole procedure of carrying out the new curriculum reform, education evaluation is an aspect which is easily neglected, while it is an important element in the new English curriculum.Taking the theory of constructivism and multi-intelligence as the theoretical base, and according to the new regulations of the reform, this thesis paper adopts the method of contrast in order to explore the application of multiple evaluations to middle-school students, with the purpose of improving the students'ability to learn English in more efficient way. The multiple evaluations on students not only pay attention to students'marks, but also pay more attention to discovering and developing their various potential abilities as well as their demand during the process of English learning. These evaluations practice proves that the adoption of the principles and functions of the evaluations on students proposed by the new curriculum reform can improve middle-school students'English learning to some degree, and can also motivate students to study English more actively and positively. In the meantime, students have developed the ability to explore their own ways in study and to solve problems independently. And they have also increased the ability of cooperation, creativity and communication.
