According to the Multiple Intelligence Theory, all human intelligences are diverse andnot single. The eight intelligences are: spatial, linguistic, logical-mathematical,bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. Everyone hasdifferent intelligences which is advantageous combination, which requests teacher shouldstimulate students’ interest in learning according to characteristics of students’ differentintelligences in secondary vocational English teaching and take advantage of the students’strong intelligence to promote the development of other intelligences, finally, teachers aim toraise students to suit social needs.This paper aims at solving problems existing in the process of vocational Englishteaching through the Multiple Intelligence Theory. After the understanding of the situation ofstudents’ intelligence, teacher can design suitable teaching content for students to learn, usethe suitable teaching methods for English teaching and establish a suitable curriculumevaluation system for students’ actual situation.This study was conducted through instruments as questionnaires, class observation andtests. The researcher chooses two classes of Grade2012, who are majors in accounting asexperimental class and control class in Tangshan Foreign Economic and Trade School. Thesetwo classes are quite similar: the same English level, and taught by the same English teacher.In the experiment, the course design based on the Multiple Intelligence Theory was used inthe experimental group; traditional teaching method was used in the control group. After asemester’s experiment, the researcher tested on the experimental group and the control groupstudents. A comparative analysis of the data shows that students in the experimental class isbetter than the control class, thus the researcher gains this conclusion: the English Teachingbased on the Multiple Intelligence Theory can stimulate students’ interest in learning invocational school, help students regain confidence in learning English and improvestudents’ English level.
