With the ever updating of the technology, the internet has rapidly expanded to all corners of the society. In China, Higher Learning Institutions (HLI) have become the most densely populated areas of the internet, which has been an integral part of the daily life of teachers and students. While bringing benefits to the education in terms of morality, emotion, capacity and psychology, the very nature of the internet-openness and virtualization, has posed also challenges apart from opportunities. Therefore, how to grasp the updates of students thinking and how to decrease the negative influence of the internet through bettering the internet environment of the HLIs has become critical to the moral educators.With analysis of both the negative and active influence of the internet on the college students, and through studying the opportunities and challenges brought by the internet, this paper points out the problems of moral education in HLIs and their causes, also it puts forward the countermeasures.Chapter one is the prelude. In this chapter, through reflections on the internet-addictive suffered by college students and studying the roots of internet crimes, the author elaborates on the cause of this study and what will be studied and the significance in theory and practice.Chapter two is on the common understandings. This chapter studies the basic definitions and concepts, and summarized the previous studies, on which basis, this paper lays down approaches of this study.Chapter three is on the analysis of the influence of the internet on students. Through questionnaires, the author gets a deep understanding of how the internet is used by the college students, and further analyzes both the negative and active influence in order to find out the causes.Chapter four is on listing the analysis of the moral education in HLIs and its countermeasures. Through correctly gasping the challenges and opportunities brought by the internet, the author puts forward the countermeasures on bettering moral education in HLIs.Chapter five is the reflections and outlook of this study. Through reflections on the subjects and approaches of this study, the author points out the direction for further study of this topic.
