Analysis Of Current Situation And Study Of Countermeasures On Choice Of Pension Mode And Quality Of Life For Urban Elderly

ObjectivesTo investigate and analysis on the current situation of the pension modes selection and quality of life of the elderly in the city,to understand the living conditions and maintenance requirement of the elderly in urban China,to explore the adverse factors affecting their quality of life and put forward feasible countermeasures.To provide positive and effective references for the development of the aged care in our country and to speed up the process of solving the problem of aging.MethodsUsed questionnaires to investigate 725 elderly people,selected by the method of subjective convenience sampling,living in Linghe and Guta District,Jinzhou City,Liaoning Province,from October 1 to November 23 in 2014.Used the old people's General information questionnaire,the old people's activity of daily living scale,concise health status questionnaire to survey the pension modes selection and quality of life status of the elderly,to analyze the influencing factors of pension modes selection and quality of life,to compare the differences of the basic caring situation and quality of life and the pension requirements of the elderly choosing different pension modes.Used SPSS19.0 statistical software package to deal with information and data from collection.In the present study,we used the descriptive statistics analysis,chi-square test and logistic regression analysis,t-test,variance analysis,Spearman's rank correlation test and Mann Whitney rank sum test or other medical statistical methods to the data for processing and analysis.Test level of alpha =0.05,P<0.05 with statistical significance.Results1.A total of 725 questionnaires were issued,all recovered,706 valid questionnaires,the effective recovery rate of 97.38%.The number of the elderly selecting family pension mode was 348(49.29%),and the number of the elderly selecting old-age caring institutions pension mode was 358(50.71%).2.The influencing factors during the elderly choosing family or old-age caring institution pension mode,were age,the number of diseases,self-care ability,monthly income,economic conditions,spouse,number of children,social activities,hobbies,feeling with family members(P < 0.05).3.The correlated factors affecting the quality of life of the elderly were age,spouse,feeling with family members,monthly income,economic status,the number of diseases,self-care ability,hobbies,social activities,cultural degree(P<0.05).4.The quality of life of the elderly in the family care mode was 67.68±32.05,and the quality of life of the elderly in the institution mode was 43.64±32.20.5.Rank mean of iving care demand was 277.58,medical care demand was 282.15,spiritual and cultural needs was 398.77 of the elderly choosing family pension mode;Rank mean of iving care demand was 427.29,medical care demand was 422.86,spiritual and cultural needs was 309.49 of the elderly choosing old-age caring institution pension mode.ConclusionsThe development of pension modes of the elderly in Jinzhou is relatively slow,the existing pension mode is still not perfect,the family is still the main pension mode,the pension effect of family is better than the old-age caring institutions.The development of old-age caring institutions and pension service is still in a low level,it is difficult to meet the growing needs of the elderly and has a negative impact on the quality of life.We should strengthen the implementation of national pension industry reform policies,improve the existing pension mode,attach importance to the development of old-age care institutions,Rich content of the service for the aged,,improve the status quo of providing for the aged.
