Sustainable development is the most fundamental way to resolve conflicts between humans and the nature. The core of the sustainable development is the education on the concept of sustainable development in middle school. China has a large population of 1.3 billion, so we must take the road of sustainable development.High school geography textbook contains the concept of the sustainable development, and high school students are old and mature enough to fully understand the concept ,so the education for sustainable development concept in high school geography education is of great significance. And this paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction, including the background of the research ;Second, the significance of the research out;and the research methods and ideas.The second part is about the definition and the oretical basis. In this section,,development, sustainable development,and education are defined.The third part is analysis on current situation of the susstainable development in high school. First of all, organize and summarize the high school curriculum standards and textbooks in geography a lot of the concert of education for sustainable development concept, which demonstrates the concept of sustainable development of high school geopraphy.The last part is a research on the teching practice of the education on sustainable development in high school. To develop good personal habits.various teching activities in and after class are proposed in this paper.This paper has the following points of innovation: First, relevant concepts are completely defined. Second, combine the class-teaching with extracurricular activities, and construct an open geography classroom. The survey data analysis and the teaching cases in this paper demonstrate that this topic have great theoretical and practical significance to help high school students form a concept of the sustainable development.
