Since 20th century 60's, facing the global environmental deterioration, to train the right sense of the environment for the goal of geographical environment education developed quickly. It becomes one of the important areas in international education. Entering 21st century, along with people to environment and development relations attention, the environment education idea appeared the new trend, that is, the education must face sustainable development. The 21st century development views are taken social, the human and the environment coordinated unification as the characteristic development. Now the world, the environment question is becoming the influence to be biggest, the scope broadest global question。The geography is one of the sustainable development idea core subjects。But the environment education is one of important contents in geography teaching process. This article has proven the sustainable development and middle school geography teaching relation; Emphasized the geography education which cannot be substituted in the sustainable development education affects. Carries on the sustainable development education in the geography teaching countermeasure. Uses the sustainable development education teaching form, raises the correct environment view and the development view, and thus causes all the people to realize the sustainable development for the whole world to make the contribution.
