Research On The Space-time Coupling Between Population And Economic Development In Jiangxi Province

Population issue is the key factor which restrains and affects the sustainability of economic and social development. The relationship between population and economic development, the basic and the most important issue of human society, have been focused by lots of learners and experts at home and abroad very early.Under the background of economic globalization and population urbanization, according to human geography, population and economics, regional economics, demography and related theories and methods, by using interaction between regional population and economic development as the main line, taking 91 counties (cities, districts) of Jiangxi Province as the investigated subject, with the support of population and economic development related theories as well as technicals such as SPSS and GIS and so on, this dissertation analyzes and generalizes characteristics of population development in Jiangxi province (such as the total population and changes, demographic, qualities characteristics of population and population distribution) as well as the status of economic development (such as economic development level, estimation on status stage of economic development and the spatial pattern of economic development).On that basis, with gray relational analysis (GRA), by selecting 17 indicators of population system and 18 indicators of economic system so as to establish the mathematical model of coupling between population and economy, this dissertation obtains the correlated coupling of the interaction between population and economic system. The dissertation analyzes characteristics and trends of associated coupling between population change and economic development from the time series. In spatial sequence, according to the coupling degree and the distribution of economic development level, 91 countries (cities) of Jiangxi Province can be generally devided into four types: harmony (2), amelioration (6), conflict (32) and low-level coupling (51).Contrapose the coupled results of population and economy over the province, the dissertation probes into the coupled influencing mechanism and main factors. At last, specific suggestions for speeding up implementation of the coordinated development strategy of population and economy can be made.This dissertation is Striving to achieve these goals: in theory, build theory framework of regional population and economic development to promote the further development of theory of population and economics; in practice, by empirical analysizing the relationship between population and economic development of Jiangxi Province, reveal their interaction, linkage orderliness and spatial coupling, therefore, it can lay the foundation for the coordinated development of Jiangxi Province's PERE (population and economy, resources, environment), and provide a scientific basis of urban and rural development, regional development, the promotion of sustainable development in Jiangxi Province.
