The focus and direction of contemporary educational research are teachers and teacher professional development. It is also the need for teachers to self-realization. With the reform and development of China's education, it has proposed a higher demand on the education and team building of new mathematics teachers.This study has a comprehensive analysis on the theory of teacher professional development at home and abroad. It studies on new mathematics teachers by questionnaire, interviews, and literature research. It concerns about their work and learning situation under the background of the new curriculum. It emphasizes on personal attention, internal professional structure and external environment of new mathematics teachers professional development. It also combines with the specific issues which are reflected in the professional development of this group. It explains how the new mathematics teachers improve their professionalism on the teaching beliefs, professional knowledge, professional competence, professional attitude and motivation, awareness and needs of self-professional development.This study has five sections. The first chapter, background and significance; the second chapter, study review of teacher professional development; the third chapter, survey and analysis of the new mathematics teachers professional development; The fourth chapter, discussion on approaches and strategies to promote new mathematics teachers professional development; the fifth chapter, conclusion, summary on investigation results and countermeasures.In addition, this paper discusses on the approach of new mathematics teachers self-professional development, rationalization proposals on how to achieve self-development and the school's role in new mathematics teachers self-professional development. It leads the new mathematics teachers to correctly understand and to face their self-professional development.In the current era, training the awareness of the new mathematics teachers professional development, concerning about the ability form of their professional development, and leading of this group to gradually realize their own professional development in mathematics practice, have become our common pursuit.
