With the new implementation of the course reform, some developed areas continue to try to reform Chinese teaching, and have achieved great results. However, the overall quality level of some rural middle schools, owing to different kinds of reasons on the course reform, is much lower than that of developed cities. Therefore, it is important to do some research on the Chinese teaching of rural middle schools and students' development of Chinese learning abilities in Taizhou Area. On the base of the detailed investigation of rural middle schools in Taizhou Area in Zhejiang Province, this paper offers some very quantifiable and maneuverable suggestions to improve the efficiency of Chinese teaching in rural middle schools and to enhance students'linguistic literacy and abilities.The introduction emphasizes on topic aims, the current situation of the education reform (especially the course reform) and the problems needing solved.Chapter 1 focuses on the current situations and students' development of Chinese learning abilities of rural middle schools in Taizhou Area. Based on the investigation, the main problems include lacking learning interest, emptying self-reliance on study, having rigid old forms of homework as well as lowing the levels of the outside classroom reading, etc. The investigation also shows that the edition of Chinese textbooks for middle schools should be based on the school curriculum, riching the study resource should be recommended, practical Chinese teaching activity should be developed and conventional forms of study should be transformed.Furthermore, the paper provides some suggestions on the current situations and students'development of Chinese learning abilities of rural middle schools in Chapter 2. The implementation of school-based curriculum is urgently needed by the rural middle schools. The issue of the Chinese teaching optimization should be solved. At the same time, it is necessary to understand the realistic significance of outside classroom reading, which is the important way to improve students'reading ability and to explore the Chinese teaching resource. Moreover, various Chinese teaching activities should be carried out in rural middle schools.In conclusion, the topic in this paper has been made achievements in implementation, while it confronts with some problems as well.
