The vocational education has developed rapidly since the 90's age last century. Our country presses for greater higher vocational education quality and develops vocational and technical education features while developing vocational education.Therefore, being able to cultivate high-quality applied teaching talents become one of the key of construction of vocational colleges.The current faculty status of vocational education in China is generally low practical ability, single teachers'ability structure, the lack of production experience and so on. The problem of lack of teachers'practical ability become more and more predominant, which directly affects the quality of vocational education. Therefore, how to improve the practical ability of teachers to promote faculty development and improve the quality of vocational education in various vocational colleges becomes an important issue.Based on this research background, this study takes W vocational college as an example and is concerned about the status and problems of vocational teachers in practical ability. It studies the reasons of the lack of practical ability of teachers and how to develop it and what kind of countermeasures provided by the colleges can effectively enhance the practical ability of teachers. In this study, taking W vocational college as a case study, the researches will be firmly embedded in the reality of college and reflect the realities and practicalness of this study.This study sorts out the existing problems of teachers'practical ability through questionnaires and interviews from the status and existing problems of teachers' practical ability in W vocational college. It reflects the little practical experience in enterprises, not strong hands-on ability, weak practical guidance and demonstrative ability, the lack of practical reflection ability and low capacity in teaching and research innovation. Directing at these problems, this study analyzes the reasons of existing problems of vocational teachers'practical capacity deeply and systematically. This study argues that teachers lacking independent practical awareness is the subjective reasons leading to lack of practical ability. While the congenital deficiency of the teaching staff, the lack of practical learning opportunities and places for teachers provided by colleges, the lack of teachers' continuation education and not perfect teachers'assessment mechanism are the objective reasons.Based on the above, the focal point and end-result is to discuss the strategy and concept of improving teachers'practical ability through school-enterprise cooperation in vocational colleges. Using for reference of the main practice and basic experience in the aspect of faculty development in some developed countries, it puts forward introducing experienced businessmen to teaching staff in order to improve faculty structure and assignment of teachers into corporate practice. At the same time we establish and improve practice training base in the campus with the support of enterprises and implement the continuation education policy of teachers. The assessment of practical ability will be incorporated into teachers'evaluation system. Job security of teachers into corporate practice will be done well in order to improve teachers'practical enthusiasm and initiative to enhance the practical ability of teachers. On the basis of it, I analyze the difficulties and security conditions of implementing school-enterprise cooperation strategy. Among them, shortage of teachers and funds and not high enthusiasm of enterprises participating in it could become the difficulties of implementing school-enterprise cooperation strategy, however, if the government can increase support, make employing mechanism in vocational colleges flexible, increase the financial assistance of the vocational colleges, carry out the policy of corresponding tax relief of the cooperative enterprises, and put more coordinating efforts in increasing the time of teachers of higher vocational colleges practising in enterprises, it can protect the smooth implementation of the school-enterprise cooperation strategy.The focus of this study lies in the arguement that school-enterprise cooperation can enhance the practical capacity of vocational teachers. This study takes vocational teachers as the main body of school-enterprise cooperation and puts forward specific operational strategies and processes of school-enterprise cooperation in improving practical ability of teachers with very strong practicalness and applicability.
