Higher vocational education is playing a more and more important role in the context of rapid economic growth and industrial structure upgrading. As a linkage between education and market, school-enterprise cooperation in higher vocational colleges is a complex and systemic project, which involves the government, administrative department on education, colleges, industry guild, employers and students etc. At present, the further development of school-enterprise cooperation is impeded by problems such as the absence of macro guidance policies, the lack of foresight in enterprises, and homogenization of higher education.On the basis of previous researches, this thesis begins with relevant concepts and theories of school-enterprise cooperation in higher vocational colleges, and then summarizes the current situation of school-enterprise cooperation in Chinese higher vocational colleges. After analyzing the problems and reasons from both macro and micro perspectives, this thesis comes up with improvement strategies for professional-competence-oriented school-enterprise cooperation in higher vocational college.This thesis is comprised of six sections. The first section is introduction, which introduces the research background from perspectives of socioeconomic reality and the author's need. In this part, the aims and significance of this study are clarified. Relevant concepts, theories and methods are explained, and the main contents and limitations of this study are concluded. The second section is literature review, in which the literature on school-enterprise cooperation in higher vocational colleges at home and abroad is summarized. This part is the foundation of the following study. The third and fourth sections are analysis of the existing problems. From a macro perspective, the third section reviews the development history of school-enterprise cooperation in Chinese higher vocational education, followed by the current situation and existing problems. The fourth section adopts a micro perspective, takes ZiBo Vocational College as an example and analyzes the measures this college takes on school-enterprise cooperation and the problems they are facing. The fifth section first expounds the connotation of professional-competence-oriented school-enterprise cooperation, and for its existing problems in higher vocational colleges, this part then proposes improvement strategies.
