In June 1999, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council jointly promulgated the "Decision on the Deepening of Educational Reform and the Full Promotion of Quality Education", clarifying the direction for the establishment of a vital socialistic education with Chinese characteristics in the 21st century. Nowdays educationalists advocate that Quality Education should be promoted in the country. In order to achieving truly Quality Education, promoting the development of the overall quality of students, educationalists call for Emotional Education. As the basic humanities, Emotional Education is the duty to carry out in language teaching, so we have to in-depth study of language education among the emotional education.M.H.CкатKин's, the former Soviet Union education expert, affective instruction include:first, emotion is the driving force for the development of cognitive ability. Second, first proposed the "principle of Positive Affective Teaching" Third, to create a harmonious atmosphere of teaching.The value of emotional education:1. On the positive significance of human existence;2. Promote cognitive development;3. Promote good interpersonal relationships;4. Promote the development potential of students;5. Improve their aesthetic ability;6. Improve the moral character of students;7. Help students to social developmentThe content of emotional education is analyzed in this paper,.The emotional education as a concept are putted forward; and the necessity and importance of emotional education in high school language teaching are deeply researched; Finally, the ways and means of emotional education in high school language teaching are dicussed, and the writer summarizes successful experience and case study in language teaching.All in all, the two levels, the emotional education theory and the practice of emotional education,are investigated. Student needs emotional education, teaching calls for emotional education.
